As a result, the maintenance of high-speed motor drives is becoming more and more important. Today we talk about how to extend the life time of the drive.
First of all, in the application process of the drive the requirements in the manual must be followed and the necessary routine maintenance must be carried out at the same time. Due to the influence of environmental temperature, humidity, dust and vibration, the internal components of the drive will be aged, which may lead to potential failure of the drive and reduce the service life time of the drive. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out routine and regular care and maintenance of the drive. Especially under high temperature and high humidity environment, frequent start and stop of motor, severe vibration or shock environment, dust and hydrochloric acid corrosive environment, the periodic inspection interval should be shortened. Secondly, in order to make the drive run reliably for a long time, it is necessary to regularly maintain the electronic components inside the drive for the service life time of the drive, and replace the main components of the drive according to the service life time.
（1）cooling fan
The power module of the drive is the device with the most serious heat generation. The heat generated by its continuous operation must be discharged in time. There will be no sign beforehand and predictable damage to the fan, therefore, it must be renewed when the service time comes due. Never take the great risk for the small stuff. The life time of a fan generally is about 10kHours~80kHours. According to the continuous operation of the drive, it is necessary to renew the fan every 2-3 years. There are 2 kinds of the direct cooling fans, namely two wires and three wires respectively. The one wire of the 2-wire fan is the positive wire, and the other wire is the negative wire. Do not connect wronngly when replacing. Beside the positive and native wire there is also a detection wire for the 3-wire fan. Be careful when replacing, otherwise it will cause overheat alarm to the drive.
(2) Electrolytic capacitors
The internal bus of the drive generally contains a high-voltage electrolytic capacitor and its function is to obtain or remove a specific frequency. The capacity of the filter capacitor is proportional to the working current, that is, the greater the working current, the greater the capacity of the required capacitor. Usually the life time of electrolytic capacitors is 5 years.
